Located on the second floor, this Queen room is one of our coziest.  The room features a corner fireplace and an adjacent seating area for two.  Buttery yellow and fresh turquoise colors make this a cheerful room.   The placement of the windows gives it a lovely breeze and the view from the main window looks over the roof top and up to the hills. It is steps from a shared courtyard and the front mirador where one can enjoy a morning coffee or the most spectacular sunsets. The bathroom has colorful Talavera tiles in the walk-in shower and at the sink. Sleeps two.

4-La Terraza

Tucked beyond palm trees and potted flowers is our charming 'mini-queen' bedroom. A large, intricately carved wooden headboard and colorfully quilted bedspread add remarkable rustic Mexican authenticity. This quilt has been passed down from the previous owner and delicately restored by a local artisan. The exposed red brick ceiling is an example of curved boveda artistry.  The bathroom is a calming retreat of white, green and yellow ceramic tiles. This cozy and intimate room is complemented by our largest private terrace. Enjoy some of the best views of the garden courtyard, the pool below and the expansive mountains beyond. Sleeps two.

7-Las Bougainvilleas

This large, airy room adjacent to the Little Cocina features two queen beds for two couples or a small family. Sliding patio doors stretch across one wall. Orange curtains drawn aside spill warm sunlight in from the balcony. Views overlook the garden pool below, our wall of flowers and the expansive mountains that rise in the distance. Wooden furniture and textured accents like the woven tapestry on the wall and quilted Michoacan saddles on the beds bring an authentic Mexican flair. The seating area features a barrel-shaped loveseat and coffee table crafted in traditional Equipale design. These handmade pieces are known for their slanted cedar slats and tanned pigskin leather. In the far corner, a handcrafted desk and chair are perfect for sending last-minute work emails. The private bath is aglow in sunny yellow tiles and white walls. The bold blue, warm orange and red hand-painted tiles that trim the walk-in shower and sink add that attention-to-detail iconic to Mexican tiles. Sleeps four.

Rent Rm 6: El Jardin & Rm 7: Las Bougainvilleas together! Accommodate six people with one king, two queen beds and a shared courtyard balcony. A breezy kitchenette (shown at right) consists of a refrigerator, convection oven and microwave - ideal for a family, two couples or girlfriends on a get-away weekend. 8-El Patio

Our private ground floor Queen bedroom is  accessed through the pool courtyard. Seafoam green walls and unique pink marbled tiles provide a calming pastel color palette. Pale pinks, yellows, blues, and greens are painted onto clay lamps and vases. Similar colors are found on the upholstered armchair and in the paintings on the wall to create a serene atmosphere. The exquisitely carved wooden headboard and side tables add depth to the room. A wooden trunk at the foot of the bed is perfect for storage and use as a luggage stand. A myriad of green hues painted throughout the bathroom and a skylight in the shower call in calm for those quiet moments needed on vacation. This poolside room was made for grabbing your robe and lounging under the Mexican sun for a few hours. Escape up the nearby painted steps to a hidden mirador with views of the lake, mountains, and eclectic town. Sleeps two.

This is the only room with its own kitchenette . . . a custom-made cabinet containing a refrigerator and microwave and a wood desk makes this room ideal for longer-term stays. This peaceful first floor paradise is perfect for a pair of couples exploring the city. Two queen beds on a backdrop of sky blue walls and white ceilings create the illusion of sleeping on cloud nine. Full-length windows fill the room with natural light from the pool courtyard. Imagine tranquil mornings with sun rays streaming in punctuated by the song of native birds. Near the entrance, tropical anthuriums bloom to greet guests with their characteristic deep pink and red flowers. Matching wooden carved headboards and vintage trunks at the foot of the beds provide hotel-like uniformity with rustic charm. A large en-suite bathroom awash in golden and hand-painted floral tiles is a beautiful reminder of Mexican artwork. Step outside your ground-floor guest room into the gardened courtyard and pool beneath a pink and purple bougainvillea.
